w4app is a product studio in Helsinki. We build focused AI companions for the parts of life where people pay a human for advice — a doctor, a trainer, a guide. This is what we believe about that work.
Depth over breadth.
A general assistant is adequate at everything. A companion that knows your sleep, your training, your last blood panel — or the trip you're on and what you've already seen — is a different product. We build the specialist, one vertical at a time.
Privacy is an architecture decision.
Personal-life data is special-category data, and we treat it that way. No accounts. Your records stay on your phone. A feature sends only what it needs, through our EU server, and each app's privacy policy says feature by feature what that is. No ads, and we don't sell your data.
The pace good software needs.
Apps in these categories that ship every two weeks are usually bad. Apps that ship a clear improvement every quarter are usually good. We optimise for the second. A new product starts only when the last one has its rhythm.
Wellness, not medicine.
Our apps are not medical devices and don't diagnose or treat anything. They explain, organise and remind, and they say when something is worth asking a professional about. We'd rather be useful and honest about the line than blur it.
